Our client

MeDirect is a Belgian online bank offering savings, investments and wealth management. It was successfully launched in Belgium in September 2013 and has been developing itself as an innovative and disruptive player in the Belgian financial market. Being a pure internet player, MeDirect has no physical branches, and all client contact is being handled through internet, telephone and e-mail. MeDirect Bank NV/SA is a Belgian bank, regulated by the National Bank of Belgium (NBB) and Financial Services and Markets Authority (FSMA).

The team works out of four locations, Brussels, Malta, London, and Utrecht.

Function

As the HR Manager for Belgium, you will be in charge of the entire HR & Admin scope for Belgium. Overseeing both hard and soft HR topics, as well as the fleet, health and safety and prevention. You will do this together with the team based in Belgium and with the support of the Chief People Officer and the HR & Admin teams in Malta.

Your duties & responsibilities:

  1. Payroll:
  • Responsible for the payroll process for Belgium-based employees and supporting the HR Senior Officer when needed.
  • Responsible for all payroll aspects relating to international payroll and expats.
  • Responsible for the fleet management.
  1. Compensation and Benefits:
  • Oversee the design and administration of compensation and benefits programs.
  • Conduct market analysis to ensure competitive compensation packages.
  • Manage the annual performance review process.
  • Responsible for the coordination of the NRCs throughout the year.
  • Responsible for the fleet management.
  1. Employee Relations:
  • Manage employee relations, including performance management, employee engagement, and conflict resolution.
  • Conduct investigations into employee concerns and complaints.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations.
  • Managing direct reports.
  1. Organizational Development:
  • Lead organizational development initiatives, including change management and succession planning.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work culture.
  1. Team Leadership:
  • Lead and develop a high-performing HR team.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to HR team members.
  1. Talent Acquisition:
  • Lead the talent acquisition function, ensuring the organization attracts and retains top talent.
  • Develop and implement effective talent acquisition strategies to meet the organization’s hiring needs.
  • Build a strong employer brand.
  1. Strategic HR:
  • Develop and execute the overall HR strategy aligned with both MeDirect Group and MeDirect Belgium’s business objectives.
  • Provide strategic HR consulting to business leaders on a variety of people-related issues.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Being a Business Partner to the Heads of Departments and C-level.
  • Strategic advisor to the CEO (BE) and CPO (Group) on all HR & people matters for MeDirect Belgium.
  1. Events:
  • Organise events for employees and build the MeDirect DNA together with the HR team of the Group.
  1. Administration:
  • Responsible for all administrative matters in Belgium.
  • Responsible for Prevention and giving support to the office administrator, who is a Prevention advisor level 3. And liaise with the Chief Administration Officer to align on these topics.
  • Other duties as may be determined from time to time by the CEO or Chief People Officer.

Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, a Master is an asset.
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, (with a minimum of 5 years in a senior HR leadership role).
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Experience with HR systems and HR analytics is an asset.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with business leaders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Capacity to work independently.
  • As a member of the HR department, you will be able to demonstrate discretion, empathy and confidentiality.
  • You thrive in a dynamic environment and are flexible.
  • Dutch and English are required, French is an asset.
