Quorum is an Antwerp based corporate boutique law firm founded in 2012. Since then, the team of Quorum (which today consists of nearly 20 lawyers) has developed as a trusted partner for its clients on corporate transactions, investments and commercial advisory & dispute resolution.

Function

As senior litigation lawyer, you will notably be responsible for:

  • Case Management: Manage a diverse caseload of corporate and commercial litigation matters, including post-acquisition disputes, contractual disputes, shareholder actions, regulatory investigations, intellectual property conflicts, and other business-related legal disputes;
  • Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research to analyse case law and regulations relevant to the ongoing litigation. Use research findings to develop compelling legal arguments;
  • Strategy Development: Collaborate with internal teams and clients to devise effective litigation strategies that align with the overall business goals while considering the legal landscape and potential risks;
  • Drafting Legal Documents: Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, legal opinions, and other legal documents necessary for litigation proceedings. Ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with legal standards;
  • Client Representation: Represent corporate clients in court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and other legal proceedings;
  • Negotiation: Engage in settlement negotiations when appropriate, aiming to achieve favorable outcomes for clients while minimizing legal and financial risks;
  • Case Progress Monitoring: Regularly update clients on the progress of their cases, provide strategic advice, and address any questions or concerns they may have regarding the litigation process;
  • Compliance: Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends to ensure compliance and provide accurate advice to clients.

Profile

  • You have a master’s degree in law and can present a strong academic track record. An additional master’s degree or LLM is a plus;
  • You have a strong understanding of corporate law, civil procedure, and relevant regulation;
  • You have 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in the field of (corporate) litigation;
  • You are capable of making in-depth analyses, providing creative and pragmatic solutions and working autonomously;
  • You are inspired by working with others and have excellent communication skills;
  • You are ambitious and you want to grow in a professional environment;
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English. French is a plus.
