Legal Advisor – Orange

• You provide a full legal solution in a high technological and rapidly changing and expanding company environment (residential, business and wholesale market for fix, mobile and data products and services, television, VOD), which becomes more and more global and international, for any business or technical issue and you support, from a legal point of view, the BU and or department(s) in implementing the decisions taken.
• You develop all types of official and contractual legal documents and negotiate contracts with internal and external customers, suppliers, partners.
• You provide full legal assistance on all IP-issues, amongst others on content contracts, collecting societies and VOD.
• You provide legal assistance and advice in B2C or B2B customer related issues, advice the marketing department on promo’s and offers and the communication department on advertising.
• You participate actively to transversal company and projects and helps in implementing them taking into account all legal, business and company related objectives.
• You handle litigations related to the above mentioned scope and define the procedural strategy to be followed in close cooperation with external lawyers.
• You monitor changes in the laws and regulations to ensure Orange Belgium and its affiliates comply with the law.

You interact daily with:

• Your business unit: Director of the legal department, operational teams, senior management(handle complaints, give pro-active advice).
• External Law Offices
• Legal departments from customers, suppliers, partners and the Orange Group
• Official authorities JEP, FOD, Test Aankoop
• Professional organizations

• You have a Belgian master’s degree in law.
• You have minimum 3 years of professional experience preferably gained within a law firm or in a legal department.
• You have profound experience in IP law, Technology law as well as general commercial, civil law and procedural law. Experience with content contracts, collecting societies and VOD contracts is a must.
• You are fluent in Dutch and French and capable of working and drafting in English.
• You have good analytical and drafting skills.
• You can work autonomously, and you are proactive.
• You are an excellent team player.
• You are pragmatic.
• You have great interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills, and you are able to interact with a wide range of stakeholders.
